Czech stormspotter...

Hello to everyone,

although I´m watching this forum for more than 3 months, I haven't written anything about me yet (only some of you wrote to me some questions or are attending our IRC channel).

My name is Tomáš Prouza, 28 years old, living in village Velké Svatoňovice in northeast Bohemia (nearest big city is Trutnov). Interested in meteorology since 1993 (since 8th May 1993 I have complete row of temperature measurements etc)., in storms since 2001 (when you village was hit hard by strong hailstorm).

Owner of personal website dedicated to my own observations and measurements: http://www.meteosvatonovice.unas.cz/
Founder and admin of Amateur Meteorology in Czech republic (+ forum) since 2005: http://forum.amaterskameteorologie.cz/ (large section is dedicated to various electronic weather stations)
Member of Amateur Stormchasing Society: http://www.bourky.com/ (stormspotter & editor)
Admin of A.S.S. (and common amateur meteorology) IRC channel on http://webchat.quakenet.org/?channels=AmaterMeteoCZ

Main reason why I am here? First of all I live relatively close to border with Poland (less than 10 km from Klodzko region), so it often happens, that some storms are incoming from Poland (and vice versa) and second - weather doesn´t respect any borders, so we should share our knowledges and informations for good of us all.
If you are seeking any info from CZ/SK (or in case of occurence of extreme weather), you will be welcome on our IRC channel I mentioned above. In cases of strong T-storms there are more than 50 users from all CZ/SK.
Member of Amateur Stormchasing Society
Chairman of Amateur Meteorological Society
Online data from my own weather station: http://meteosvatonovice.unas.cz/meteo/
Verthandi on IRC channel #amsos (Quakenet)

I agree with all that statements :) Welcome to our community. I'm sure you will find some interesting materials and knowledge here and you will share yours with us too!

Thanks,

today seems to be one of days I spoke about. Strong cold front (finally!) is approaching from southwest and will cross Czech republic to Poland. T-storms evolution and growth began just at night, so now large storm are occupying area of western Bohemia, moving northeast - heading to Lower Silesia.

Some pictures of storms:
