Postby Tomáš_Prouza » Saturday, 14 Feb 2015, 16:34

On Tuesday 10th February 2015 exactly at 14:00 CET largest avalanche on the Czech side of Krkonoše Mts. in past 30 years slided down of Studniční Mt. It was slab type avalanche, with its upper part about 500 m wide and path slightly more than 1000 m long. Avalanche narrowly missed chalet Děvín (ca. 30 m) and fortunately nobody was hit and injured, only forest in the path of avalanche was damaged.

Video from aerial reconnaissance (using quadcopter) from 13th Feb 2015 can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TEI3laMwJnw&hd=1
